What is this darkness?
That's right behind your couch
That strangles you on tv
And puts cotton in your mouth?
There's a bomber overhead
And there's a famine down the street
What is this darkness that we're afraid to meet?
A network interruption
A tv bulletin
Our eyes are glued to the screen
There's a monster coming in
In about an hour
That's when the torture starts
A sound is in the living room
And it almost stops your heart
What is this darkness
That paralyzes us
