ZTreeWin - файловый менеджер для всех версий Windows. В отличие, например, от Windows Commander, ZTreeWin работает в текстовом режиме, как Far или NC. За счет этого скорость работы, обработки информации, отображения содержимого директорий несколько выше.
Разработчики отмечают, что ZTreeWin разрабатывался на основе легендарного файлового менеджера для DOS XtreeGold. По их словам, все те, кому нравился XtreeGold, обязательно полюбят ZtreeWin, так как в нем имеются все те же функции плюс новые, реализация которых стала возможной благодаря расширенным, по сравнению с DOS, возможностям ОС Windows.

Тем, кто никогда не работал с XtreeGold, интерфейс программы покажется несколько необычным. Основную часть окна занимает дерево директорий. Под ним располагается панель с файлами (отображается содержимое выбранного каталога), а справа выводится информации о директории, жестком диске и т.д.
ZTreeWin is a text-mode file/directory manager for all versions of Windows 95 and later (95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP & Vista. Sorry, it does not run under DOS). It has been developed as the successor to the legendary DOS file-manager XTreeGold (tm), which its owners have abandoned in today's GUI-centric computing world.
Anyone who has used that remarkable program would be aware of its superior capabilities as a text-mode, tree-structured file-manager - but would also likely be aware that its limited memory support, and lack of long filename support are today a major issue.
ZTreeWin is a 32-bit Windows program that has been developed to provide all the powerful functionality of the past (and much more!), while avoiding the limitations of the old DOS-based program. A few advantages of ZTreeWin:
* No 640K memory barrier...log an unlimited number of disks and files
* Support for long file and directory names
* Full support of third-party archivers, with most popular programs preconfigured out of the box.
WHAT'S NEW IN ZTREEWIN 1.70/v1.72
This is a brief description of many of the changes in ZTreeWin since the release of version 1.61.
This is directed mainly to experienced users of the previous versions who are upgrading. It does not include all the changes made, nor is it intended to show how these features work. (To learn more about many of these new features see the ZTW.HLP file, or press F1 in ZTreeWin).
While a number of bug fixes to the previous versions are included in this release, those are not described here. The HISTORY.TXT file includes those. Understand, however, that most of the fixes described in the HISTORY.TXT file were for bugs introduced during the development of these versions, and were discovered during the beta testing process. These were not bugs in the released versions.
