You walked out and my world caved in
I couldn't get back on my feet again
I tried self-help books, even meditation
Searched the want-ads out of desperation

The classified said, "attention broken hearts
Meet at murphy's lounge at 8:00 sharp"
I got there early and the man at the door
Said, "we've got the cure you've been searching for"
He handed me a list and said, "here's what you need
The rules of the 12 step recover"

1. friday nights
2. neon lights
3. find a party crowd
4. jukebox
5. let it rock
6. let your hair down
7. howl at the moon
8. shoot a little pool
9. get out on the dance floor with somebody
10. let the tables turn
11. let the bridges burn
12. let go of the memory

Well i gotta admit i had my doubts at first
But i figured, what the heck, let's see if it works
So, i followed each step down to the letter
Almost right away i started feeling better
Instead of missing you, now you'll find me
